Family Guy + Shakespeare = MacBeth 3000
The premiere of MacBeth 3000 was in a word "awesome" ... I saw it on Friday at the Bloor Street Cinema. I guess the best way to explain it is :
MacBeth + light sabers + Batman + snow + car chases + Super Dave Osbourne + an Iraqi chemical weapons plant + a pedophile + Star Trek = comedy gold
The theatre was sold out. And the after party was packed. Friday night so much fun that the rest of the weekend was a letdown by comparison.
Saturday was miserable outside so Meghan and I stayed in for a mini-movie-marathon while nursing our hang-overs. I picked Rounders and Dazed & Confused, and she picked Boogie Nights and Trainspotting. After 8+ hours of movie watching my ass was numb. It's great to be dating a girl who has good taste in cinema!
Sunday we went out for Denis's birthday (he played MacDuff in the movie). We started at Sharkey's but ran into some trouble with the police over an ID miscommuncation. Let me just say that after my experience at Sharkey's on Sunday night I will never be going back there again. We eventually ended up at my old stomping grounds, The Oar House, and closed out the bar around 1am. Let me tell you, it's tough to fnd a bar that's open late on a sunday night in Oakville. Prudes!
